Joy - Color Dare Challenge #428 "Recipe 1 + 1 + 1"

Here is my Design Team Card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare Challenge #428 using the Recipe 1 Neutral (Black) + 1 Metalic (Silver) + 1 Color (Red).  I've had both these dies for quite some time and decided to make a Christmas card...  The quilt die was cut in Silver Metalic, backed with one of the design papers from "Comfort & Joy" and some of the silver panels glued back into the silver guilt frame leaving the balance with the red design paper.  The Joy sentiment with the "O" backed with the same design paper showed off the silhouette nativity scene and was perfect for this background.

Well, this starts my Christmas cards for 2021, now I have until December to do the rest... lol

Added some of the additional stitched quilt panels on the inside border with another silhouette scene.

Color My Heart Color Dare challenges are carried forward for two weeks so if you didn't share your project the first week you still have another week to enter that challenge... current challenges are on the side bar of the Color  My Heart Color Dare challenge blog.  Please join us for some fun color challenges.

Challenge #74 "Kazoo-a-long" partnering with TSOT Sketch Challenge

Here is my Design Team Card for Double Trouble Challenge #74 "Kazoo-a-long" using a music theme and Try Stampin' on Tuesday's Sketch Challenge #490. Also chose to use Twisted Sister's optional twist to "include a zoo animal"... just had to decide which zoo animal... going back and forth from a kangaroo or a giraffe. This is an all-occasion card, inside sentiment can be added.

Found the giraffe I wanted to use in Cricut Design Space and then looked through Pinterest sentiments for a giraffe.  I had to be reminded by Our Little Crop Group to make sure to follow the sketch and wasn't sure my giraffe was small enough to use in the center panel.  While prusing through Pinterest there was a tri-fold card with a giraffe on the face of the card and when it was opened the rest of the body appeared.  I liked that idea; however, instead of doing a tri-fold card I accordian folded my giraffe in three sections and was able to include it in the sketch challenge.  I did find a sentiment, from another card, and it was perfect.

The background design paper was the right color and loved all the spots.  My focal point was first cut with a white cardstock and printed the sentiment on; but it just didn't seem right for the background of my giraffe.  I cut another piece of the design paper and placed under the giraffe... this happy paper made me happier.

Now, to place the musical notes.  Used a Cricut cut and used only the speech bubble for my upper right-hand corner embellishment.  Since the sentiment was on the focal point section, selected to put the music notes at the bottom. One of the other giraffes not used, instead of throwing it in my stash to get lost, it was added to the inside border.

Our Things 1, 2 and 3 at Double Trouble sure bring on some wierd combinations but I like to challenge them all; however, you have the flexibility of doing just Thing 1 "a music theme" and be eligible for our random draw.

For those that really like more of a challenge may want to include Twisted Sister's optional twist and/or enter at our partner's post if you have met their requirement... and you will be rewarded additional chances  for the random draw.  Please join us at Double Trouble Challenges.

Sending Smiles - ColorMyHeart Color Dare #426

Here is my Design Team card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #426 using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #402.  I sought out one of my newer stamps which I had not used yet and decided this would be a good stamp set for the Sketch and color challenge and also meet the requirement of Heart2Heart and Use Your Stuff "something new".

No coloring but the whimsical images were all stamped using Lagoon for one flower, Lemon (Lemonade) for another flower and Peacock for the leaves and sentiment. Went through my stash for coorindating colors for my design paper keeping it within the three colors chose for stamping. My background paper was my neutral, Linen, which gave a nice contrast and made my floral pop. Used some stamped left overs on the inside corner of my card instead of throwing them in my stash to be forever lost.

Winter Hello, Warm Wishes - Color Dare #425 partnering with Double Trouble

Here is my Design Team card for Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #425 choosing at least three colors using the Inspirational Board and partnering with the Double Trouble Challenge #74 "Cuddle Up Day" and included Twisted Sister's optional twist "warm and cuddly critter".

One of our entrants (Niki1) for Double Trouble had a beautiful fun fold card in which she used Mary Deatherage's tutorial "side fold card".  The fold is so simple and it gives you the flexibility of a square card that is folded to an A2 size card and envelope... I love it.  Click here to see my other "side fold card".

First I followed the tutorial for my side fold card and background and gathered my stamps and dies.  Chose a critter that was dressed warm and cuddly in a sweater, scarf and hat for my optional twist with warm wishes sentiment and a sweater embossing folder for my background.  Colored the adorable penquin with a variety of colors from the Color Dare Inspiration Board using Sketch Copic alcohol based pens and then fussy-cut.  A set of trees were cut from evergreen cardstock attached to the background, and penguin added with some 3D thin foam tape for dimension.  Sentiments and bows were added.

Please pop over to ColorMyHeart Color Dare to see DT members' inspiration, along with other participants that have entered this challenge.

Gnome for the Holidays

Got this Stamp Set just before the Pandemic and was going to use it for all my Christmas cards; however, the patterns on the hats, tree, presents and ornaments were all white space, and it's quite time consuming to fill in with the different patterns.  Decided to use the CTMH gnomes instead and use pattern paper for the background... so this special gnome card is for my favorite daughter and her family.  Although maybe after doing 35-40 cards I might have perfected the coloring... lol.

Once I did all my coloring it was pretty easy to finish my card.  In my stash there was a snowflake embossed piece which became my background layered with ruby cardstock.  A partial fussy-cut on my gnome image, also layered with ruby cardstock and adhered to background with 3D thin foam tape.  Stamped a sentiment first on the embossed background (which I messed up) so ended up re-stamping on cardstock, fussy-cut around words and adhered with 3D thin foam tape.
