Heart 2 Heart - Jan 19 Color Challenge

This card was made for the Heart 2 Heart Jan 19th Color Challenge.  My Birth month is December and the Color Ponderosa Pine.  Again I am a first time player, but have submitted other January challenges.  For this challenge I used Ponderosa Pine cardstock, and selected CTMH "Pear & Partridge" Paper in which the darker green in this particular paper had a real close match to the Ponderosa Pine.  For the contracting color I used another paper from the same paper pak.  The center doily I had die-cut some time ago and never used.  From another scrap I was able to cut out a couple of the tree branches (flairs), leaves and partridge from the same paper and used thin foam tape to pop it up.  Added Sentiment from Stamp Set C1525 Pear & Partridge, and Gold Sequins finished the card off.  This could also be submitted for the Jan 5th Challenge "Old is New", but had already made a scrapbook page for that challenge.  Go to the Heart 2 Heart Challenges and see other beautiful papercrafting...January is still open for all their challenges.

"Pear & Partridge" CTMH was one of my favorite Holiday Paper Paks which I used for my Christmas Cards three years ago.  Back a couple weeks ago when my daughter and I were scrapping I saw that she had the Pear & Partridge Cardmaking Workshop and I had to have it for next Christmas...so, it lives on, not retired for me.

Heart 2 Heart Jan 5 Challenge - Old Is New

I have not done any scrapbook pages since 2001 as my daughter acquired a new camera and she did the scrapbook pages going forward while I turned to photo albums on Snapfish.  So, I thought this would be a good challenge for me, This is the page I completed for the first Heart 2 Heart Challenge in 2015 - Old is New.   January is my first time playing here at Heart 2 Heart, but this is my second challenge submitted.

My project was to re-do a scrapbook page that I scrapped back in 2001 (Old) with design techniques (New) using CTMH papers.    Below is a picture of the Old Scrapbook 8 1/2 x 11 Page, left-hand side.  I chose Footloose PaperPak for my background, paper reminded me of swirling winds, which fit the picture.  Then I used a printed paper, I believe, from Free to Be Me.  I cut out the background paper on the old layout, did some changing of the Canyon frame, added new cut-outs from Cricut Artbooking using the Dimensional Elements Banners. As far as the photos they stayed intact as they were on the old page.  The second picture of the New page is a close-up of the Old technique I used on my Grand Canyon photo, whereby I used two photographs, cutting the foreground out and then glued on top of the full panoramic picture...nice dimensional affect which I used in many of my photo pages.

Now that I completed this old scrapbook page, I will do the second page of the Grand Canyon on the right-side of photo above, and who knows maybe I'll become a scrapbook fanatic.  I still have a lot of photos that I could scrap, after all I have at least 50 years of pictures.

Heart2Heart Jan 26 Challenge - Clean and Simple

This card is for the Heart2Heart Jan 26 Challenge - Clean and Simple.  This is my first time playing here at Heart 2 Heart.  I'm really one that likes to embellish, and it took everything I had NOT to bring in embellishments.  I've been wanting to make a Valentines Day Card, and thought that would make a Clean and Simple Card.  Even my daughter said "Maybe some bling"...strangely enough I am happy without bling or embellishment...

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #91 - Friends

My 2nd submission to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #91.  After looking at my first submission a little closer I didn't feel the sketch challenge was my best interpretation.  So, I decided to make another card...

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #91 - Get Well Card

For this weeks Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #91, I had started making a Get Well Card for a friend in the hospital and used this week's sketch interpretation for my card.  I cut a pop-up card from Cricut Artfully Sent cartridge and used paper pak (CTMH Lucy)...love the softness of this paper....

I used a lot of my CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge to make my bunnies; or should I say bunny from the backside and then the front side.  The egg decorating I resorted back to my favorite stamp ""Honeycomb Flair"; however also used a couple other stamp sets that had some flair on them....

Thank You Card for Summer Craft Festival

My daughter asked me if I would design a Make & Take Tag for a local Craft Show she was going to attend.  My daughter is a CTMH Consultant and she presented this to me as a challenge.  I made it generic on the front with the Sentiment "For You", but on the back I had a From and To Stamped so it could be used by the recipient.

I made many Make & Take cuts, but we didn't use them all, so when we were done with the Craft Show I put them together and she uses them as a Thank You for any purchases her customers make.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #89 - Oh So Happy

Once again I picked up my CTMH Happy Hexagons and Honeycomb Flair Stamp Sets for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #89.  There are so many beautiful cards out there using the hexagons but I wanted "something special".  Again I experimented with my Cricut Expression for different size hexagons and started stamping away.  First I tried stamping several small hexagons...then I stamped the different "Sweet as Honey" stamp patterns on the larger hexagons using soft colors "Buttercup" "Blush" "Crystal Blue" and "Seafoam"...I felt I finally accomplished my "something special"....

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #88

This is my entry for this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  This is my first challenge.  It's all cardstock with cuts using my new Cricut Expression (a hand me down from my daughter who just got the Explore).  I created a Halloween card because I've been working on Christmas themed cards for such a long time and this is about as far as you can get from Christmas!  I had a .lot of fun participating in this challenge and can't wait 'til the next one.  Click on the link above to see all of the other great artwork.  Thanks for stopping by!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #89

This is a birthday card that I made last week for my husband and also attempted for challenge #88.  However, when completed I wasn't sure it fit the interpretation of that challenge so I submitted a different one.  In looking at the new challenge this week I felt I could submit my card from last week because my interpretation of this card fit the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #89 and I was proud of my card.   In creating this card, my original thought was to use my hexagon stamps for the windows (but they were too floral for a man) so I decided to put the Snow Haven papers behind them.  I didn't really have much thought on how I was going to finish off the card, but just kept adding to it.  I thought it was a little bit bold at first but that's what a masculine card is all about and I was happy with the final result.
