Watercoloring - H2H - June Week #5

H2H June - 5th Week
"Watercoloring"
Hostess: Melissa

This week's Challenge is all about "Watercoloring".   We know many of you are pretty busy with the Summer doings...but splattering water color can be such a pretty background with just a greeting.

Join us at Heart2Heart this week and other challenges in June... Remember you have all month to create to be eligible for recognition as one of the Top 10 "Darlings".  AND if you create a project for each challenge in the month of June, you will earn a badge as an H2H Addict for Perfect Attendance.

I tried a couple of techniques on background watercoloring, but wasn't real successful.  So I picked up a pretty detailed stamp that my daughter had given me for my birthday and thought that would make a good watercoloring project.

Stamped image with VersaMark and then heat embossed with gold ... in fact had done a second one because the first one was missing some of the detail.  I'm not real comfortable with watercoloring and some of my watercoloring lost the detail in the flowers.  I pulled out of the garbage the first dry embossing and fussy cut and re-colored the two flowers on my original that I wasn't happy with and added with 3D Thin foam tape.

I showed my husband my card and he said the purple flower looked like a dog...and you know what, if you look carefully enough you can see his eye, nose and mouth and floppy ear.  That was my favorite flower but since he told me it looked like a dog I couldn't see the flower anymore...lol.

Relax - Color Dare #249

Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #249: This week we are challenging you to using the color palette from the "No Worries" paper pack. Color Challenge: Sapphire, Lagoon, Glacier, Whisper, Cashmere and White Daisy. Of course if you don’t have these CTMH colors yet you may substitute similar colors. Hop on by and see the many inspirational cards by our DT and other entrants.

Reminder: Click on side bars for Color Dare SNEAK PEEKS for future June color challenges so you can plan ahead ... and join the Buddy Program, and help your Buddy enter a project as well.

This card was created using the Freshly Made Sketch #293, a little out of the box; but unfortunately did not notice until posting this card for Color Dare that the challenge had been closed.  Was going to use the sapphire palm tree design paper, but instead of another design paper for the circular border...die cuts were placed on an imaginary circle.

My circle was going to be the palm tree design paper and just make a palm tree set similar to the ones in the paper and piece together with different colors.  However, when I cut the palm tree in the weave design paper, I liked the effect of the other side of that paper to be my palm color and it looked so nice against the Lagoon background.

The palm tree was modified in size, and a second smaller palm in the opposite direction was attached to the base and welded together.

Update on Neck Brace:  Went to Neurosurgeon today and he said to wear the neck brace while out and about; but in the home I didn't have to wear it ... so back to scrapping. However, my range of motion in my neck is still somewhat limited so may still use my kitchen breakfast bar to put together the card.  Then I'll have two places to clean up.

Emojis - H2H June Week 4

H2H June - 4th Week
"Amojis"
Hostess: Brandi

This week's Challenge is all about "Emojis".We sure hope this weeks challenge will bring a smile to your face as we are about to go all Emoji on you! That is right we are all about the super hot, super trendy, and oh so fun and silly emojis! The kids love these things, they are every where so why not bring them into your paper crafting.

Join us at Heart2Heart this week and other challenges in June... Remember you have all month to create to be eligible for recognition as one of the Top 10 "Darlings".  AND if you create a project for each challenge in the month of June, you will earn a badge as an H2H Addict for Perfect Attendance.

Due to limitations below I was determined to get back to my craftroom, and this is my first attempt keeping it to dies instead of stamping and coloring.  This card was made for my husband for all the help he has given me with my recent experience...took on additional responsibiities at home that I would have difficulty with, plus other responsibilities as a cat sitter which I had just taken on for my neighbor's two cats (Samantha and Sluggo), and my son's cat "Thurman" for a week.  A lot of litter cleaning.

Well, it was one week today that I broke my neck and blessed with a neck brace which has limitations on range of motion and difficult  to create cards at my craft desk. However, I found that if I stand at my kitchen breakfast bar I am able to create a card.

Will be going to Neurosurgeon later this week and optimistic no surgery, but may have to embrace this neck brace for awhile or maybe a different less limited...I'll keep you posted.

Hello Foxy - Color Dare #247

Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #247: This week we are challenging you to using some of the color palette from the "No Worries" paper pack. Color Challenge: Fern, Pomegranate, Slate, Whisper, Black and White Daisy. Of course if you don’t have these CTMH colors yet you may substitute similar colors.

Reminder: Click on side bars for Color Dare SNEAK PEEKS for future June color challenges so you can plan ahead ... and join the Buddy Program, and help your Buddy enter a project as well.

This card was combined with the AHSC Sketch Challenge #215

Please visit these two challenges to see the DT and entrant inspirations, and join in the fun.

Having seen so many projects using the SOTM Hello Foxy this was my choice because I could see the stamps fall within this Sketch. Even though "No Worries" had the greys quesetioning whether the wood panel was acceptable because of the browns...thus chose other paper choices still with a wood background look.

Added a border from my stash of other cut stamps from the same Stamp Set, and added a frame for a sentiment.
