Happy Birthday - AHSC #235

A Fall Birthday card using the "Falling For You" paperpack.  Chose the polka-dot panel for the sentiment and focal point which brought out the richness of the fall whimsical leaves. The green panel was die cut with a stitched scalloped edge and adhered to another piece of the polka-dot design paper using a thin foam sheet.  Polka-dot panel was adhered to the Green panel. The leaves were fussy-cut from the design paper, layered, adhered with 3D foam tape and added some of the kraft complements to the leave arrangement.   To use up some of the white space I chose a flowing sentiment of "Happy Birthday".

Feel So Blessed - H2H October Wk 4 Vines & Twine

CTMH "Falling For You" paper pack is just the right design papers for a fall theme.  My main focal point was the PML card with the vines and pumpkin, layered, fussy-cut and adhered to a stitched circle die cut.  The background design paper was selected to enhance the focal point and twine.  Several strips of twine were cut, adhered to the background design paper with crossover in the middle, and ahered to background with 3D foam tape.

Merry Christmas - Color Dare #266

Another Christmas Card with non-traditional colors using Bashful as my pink choice.  It's such a soft color against the bold neutrals.  Using the circle tree die for the focal point selected a black polka-dot design paper because it appears that snow is falling from the sky.  The background paper was chosen for a stripe affect.  Die cut the bird from pink glitter, deer with Pebble cardstock, and the tree white daisy and added pink ornaments with Nuvo crystal drops and Wink of Stella on the focal point.  Tree, bird and Deer were all adhered with 3D thin foam tape for dimension.  Three more Nuvo crystal drops were put in the bottom corner for an embellishment.

After my card was finished, one of the girls in the group said where are you going to put your sentiment? ...oops.  Looked for a small stamp with Merry Christmas, cut stamp between the words so could maneuver better on the curve and Misti came through again without messing up the sentiment.

Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #266: We are challenging you to Use (All and Only) these CTMH Colors: Pixie or Pick Your Own Pink, Pewter, Pebble, Black and White Daisy with Optional Silver. If you don’t have these CTMH colors you may substitute similar colors. Hop on by and see the many inspirational cards by our DT and other entrants. This challenge is open until November 2nd.

For the inside of the card...used a border from my stash and bottom layer of bashful cardstock and added the second bird in the bottom corner.

A Cup of Tea Makes Everything Better - H2H - October Wk3

This is my Design Team project for Heart2Heart "Under the Weather" (maybe a weather-related or get well project). The theme I picked for this card was a "Get Well" Card using the CAS(E) this Sketch #243, turning it to landscape.

The die was happy mail received today from 7Kids Craft Store, a random draw prize at The Outlawz anniversary prize of $50...and this is just one of the dies purchased.

Passed on by generations "Tea" is a cold and flu home remedy...so the Afternoon Tea die was ideal for a Get Well Card.  Die cut using Bashful cardstock, used the die as a stencil to sponge charcoal on the design and added "Clear" Wink of Stella.  Since the die was 5" in width I turned the sketch to landscape.

Two panels were cut to size for sketch design with bashful glitter strip added between the two designs.  The Afternoon Tea die cut was adhered with 3D Thin Foam tape to add some dimension, and sentiment stamped on the one panel with Charcoal Ink.

You have until the end of the month to create to be eligible for recognition as one of the Top 10 "Darlings"... AND if you create a project for each challenge in the month of October you will earn a badge as an H2H Addict for Perfect Attendance.

The inside was stamped with tea bags on the bottom border.

Boo - AHSC #234

Using the inspiration from the Three Amigo's BlogHop Sketch Challenge #7 and combining it with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #234Another card using the "Cats and Bats" paper pack and a number of dies.  Seeing all the wonky stitched panels on my daughter's cards made me purchase them...and the rectangle dies were perfect for this sketch.  The four stitched panels are cut from various design papers and a PML card.

Halloween Scenery Die was a set of three different adorable Fall/Halloween dies from Crafting Desert Diva's and the Haunted House scenery was cut using design papers. However, only partial scenery fit on the front of the card and then the balance of the scene was used on the inside corner, with a strip of washi tape along border.  Scenery layered, and orange strips adhered inbetween the cuts of the haunted house windows.  Used wonky stitch on the bottom of the scene to match up with the orange panel and then adhered with 3D thin foam tape.

The ghost was in my stash the adhered with the regular 3D foam tape attached to the top of haunted house for more dimension.  Sentiment also from my stash and glued to the scene. Found a die cut of a orange spider web in my Halloween embellishments and adhered with foam tape.

How come it takes me so much time to post when I'm babysitting my GrandCat.  And how can you shoooo him off the desk...he just wants some attention.  Well, when he laid his head on the keyboard and I got a line of "lllllllllllllllllll's" I had enough...got up and he followed me into the kitchen for a treat and he was more than happy with that.  Thurman was a outdoor cat that worked his way into my son's home and heart, and ours too.

Trick or Treat - Tuesday Morning Sketch

Using the inspiration from the Three Amigo's BlogHop Sketch Challenge #7 and combining it with the Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge #424. The "Cats and Bats" paper pack screams Halloween and the corner embellishment in the sketch made me think of a spider web...perfect paper and perfect die. The background paper was selected because my favorite Halloween color combination is orange and black and adhered to a black panel. A PML card was used for the Sentiment, fussy-cut along the frame and adhered directly to the background paper. Dies were cut from design papers for the pumpkins, leaves and spiders, layered and adhered with 3D thin foam tape.

The above photos are close-ups of the Sentiment PML Card, and the Corner Embellishment of the Sketch.  The photo below is the inside of the card stamped with black ink on the borders and candy corn pieces stamped and colored in the corner.

Let It Snow - Color Dare #265

Promised myself that I would be making Christmas cards with some of the Challenges, and when I saw the color scheme the first thing that came to my mind were poinsettia's.  Then I thought a Penquin to bring in the black and white and the snowflakes could be the pinks and silver. Randomly stamped on White Daisy cardstock ... the pomegranate and silver snowflakes were stamped after first blotting on a sheet of paper and the Bashful was stamped a second time in the Misti. VersaMark was stamped on my personalized snowflake design paper, adding "clear" embossing powder and heat embossed.

The focal point was another stamped and die cut snowflake, added the sentiment in black , heat embossed and popped up with 3D foam tape.  The Penguin (already in my stash) just needed to be colored using a red copic pen closest to pomegranate, heat embossed and popped up with 3D foam tape.  Glitter "Clear" Pen was added to the focal point.

Enjoy Your Special Day - AHSC #233

Again I come up with several ideas of what I want to use for my card, and it always comes out different than my first plan, but generally I'm happy with the results.  My intent was do some Christmas cards.  I dwell so much on the sketch but if I would just start cutting design sheet panels it eventually falls into place. Will I take this advise, no I'll probably continue to plan in my head several different scenarios before even selecting a paper.

Color Dare #264 - Any Occasion

A blue monochromatic card...couldn't think of anything but flowers, and using the Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge #423 was a great sketch to accomplish this.  Several pieces were cut and shuffled around to get the best combination of these colors, the two sided cardstock brought in a little more blending of these colors.  On the band I added black to the die cuts to make it appear as ribbon or thread going through the holes and then added a black die cut bow.

Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #264: We are challenging you to Use (All and Only) these three CTMH Colors: Crystal Blue, Pacifica, Sapphire, White Daisy and Black. On the inside of the card adhered a few more of the die cuts from my original cuts using a variety of the blues.

Count Your Blessings - AHSC #232

Lots of layers in this sketch and knew I wanted to do a Fall/Thanksgiving card and decided to use a retired paperpack "Pathfindng" for my autumn colors and patterns.  Cut several panels and distressed edges with Chocolate ink.  On the focal panel stamped some wheat stalks whispering in the wind along with a sentiment and added the twine ribbon across the bottom.  The cornucopia was stamped in cocoa, colored with a variety of copic pens and adhered with 3D Foam Tape.
