Be Yourself - Vintage Card

Wrapping Up May at Heart2Heart "Vintage", and putting it through to Between The Folds Challenge 22B "CTMH Thick Twine."  I didn't have any CTMH Twine but had in my stash a twine and used that, along with CTMH retired design paperpak.  Don't know the name of the paperpak but if there is anyone who can tell me the name, please let me know...it's definitely CTMH because it's identified on the back side. Thanks to Katrina and Alysson I was able to get the name of the paperpak "Free Spirit" from somehwere around 2007.

I don't believe I have ever made a vintage card...so this is out of my comfort zone.  However , as vintage as I am you'd think I would be familiar with vintage...but no off to Pinterest to check out vintage. Next went through my older CTMH stash (thanks to my daughter's hand-me downs) to find some appropriate paper I could use.  Then all I had to do was rough and tare edges.  I had recently bought a tablet of design papers "Graphic 45" and cut out of the squares with a vintage look, and then roughed the edges and scratched off some of the color to make it look vintage as well.

Finished it off with a button I had that appeared vintage, and added the off white twine / ribbon, and made a small bow through the center of the button. Once I had all my pieces together, this card was fast and I am pleased with my first vintage card.

Hello - Newborn Card

This Newborn Card is made using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch #162 combined with the theme from Heart2Heart Challenge "Transportation" think planes, trains and automobiles plus boats, trucks, helicopters, hot air balloons and more!  How about a baby giraffe in a tractor welcoming Baby with Hello...and include this in the Craftin Desert Divas Linky Party "Create a Scene".

Check out what the design team members and other entrants have submitted to these challenges by clicking on the links above. There's still time for you to create and join these challenges.

After coloring the image from Craftin Desert Divas it wasn't difficult to use the CTMH Design papers from "Magical."  Chose the papers and cut away the different shapes required and adhered with tape and layered the image and sentiment with 3D foam tape. Added some clouds and grass/hay to the image for my scene.  Didn't use any other embellishments because the sketch certainly played a big part in the presentation of the baby giraffe on the tractor and being a baby/infant card didn't want to use beads or other embellishments.

Graduation Props for Photo Booth

These Graduation Props were requested by my daughter-in-law for our Granddaughter's Graduation Party to be used at her party's photo booth.

The bowties were layered and different design sheets on each side.

The glasses below were all on Cricut Design Space, but I modified them by adding the year on top of each, and cut and layered one set in black and another set in green. Mustaches were cut and layered and cut in three different sizes.

Two Graduation Hats were cut and layered made in the school colors.

Have a Beautiful Day

Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #195Join us in this week’s challenge combining the colors, Thistle, Pear, Crystal Blue, Lagoon and White Daisy (all and only) until Thursday, June 2, 2016 to create and link up your project. Look forward to seeing your inspirations for this color challenge. We encourage you to use CTMH products; however you may use any products to participate using closest to colors...and still join in the fun.

This Color Challenge was combined with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #161. Had no idea what I was going to use in this sketch, but loved all the layering.

Had just purchased a feathers stamp and die...stamped on white cardstock three larger feathers with lagoon, thistle and pear inks, die cut stamped feathers and die-cut more in white cardstock for layering, distressed edges, and adhered to the scalloped panel. Stamped a couple smaller feathers on white daisy cardstock with pear and thistle inks, fussy-cut, distressed and added to the bouquet of feathers.

Dir-cut a stitched scalloped frame for the focal point...stamped bird on white daisy cardstock with lagoon ink, colored with ShinHan alcohol-based pen, fussy-cut and adhered inside frame.  Stamped flowers on white daisy cardstock, sponged with lagoon and thistle inks, fussy-cut distressed and layered in frame and on panel with feathers with 3D Thin foam tape.  Sentiment stamped on white daisy cardstock, distressed and adhered with 3D foam tape.

The inside was stamped masking with more feathers and flowers and panel added for sentiment or personal note.

PPinkyDolls Fifi

The Outlawz's May Freebie Progessive Challenge digi is from Etsy "PPinkydolls" and this card was created using the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 and Die-Cutting Divas Challenge #267, theme using Polka Dots.

Image was colored with a variety of ShinHan alcohol-based pens, and the dress, wings and bows were colored with "Wink of Stella"...Polka dots were added to the dress.  the rest of the card was pretty easy to just follow the sketch cuts and use Polka-dots...so I brought out my retired paperpack called "Dotty For You" and slected four colors and cut away.  The frame was a die-cut, and the quarter circles on two of the corners were a die-cut from cricut.

Added three triangular panels on the  inside of card, and balance left blank for a personal note or sentiment.

Challenge #156
May 26 - June 7, 2016
Theme: "Anything Goes"

Click on Aud Sentiments Challenge to see what the other Design Team Members have created and other entrant inspirations. Challenge runs for two weeks...create a project and submit by Tuesday, June 7, 2016. Join us in this challenge and don't forget to Add a Sentiment.

Combining this card with Heart2Heart Challenge - Fun Folds.

My Granddaughter's bedroom has the theme of Paris and she loves everything Paris, so naturally what card would I choose to make.  And to go along with the card, I decorated a Eiffel Tower Jewelry Holder and enclosed the top of the Tower to hide a money gift...click here to to see the Tower.

INSIDE:  Cricut Design Center, CTMH Artfully Sent Cartridge had a Eiffel Tower Pop-Up Card, which I sized to a 5x7 card, cut from White Daisy cardstock and modified to have the two ladies cut on page instead of a separate die-cut.  I cut another card with the design paper from La Vie En Rose, cut out the tower, glued to the white cardstock, adhered the white card onto a black card base and finished with stamping some flairs and sentiment.

FRONT:  The background paper was a design paper (peachy pink and gold) from a new CTMH Paperpak "Happy Times".  However, her new favorite color is peach...but I'm sure she will be pleased with her card.  The Flowers were stamped with VersaMark, heat embossed with Gold, fussy-cut, liquid glass added to the centers and adhered to background paper with 3D Thin Foam Tape

The same ladies that were cut in the inside of the card were used for the front of the card using a shiny black and gold special paper, layered with same die -cut for shadow, lined them up as a Paris Fashion Show walkway and adhered with 3D Thin Foam Tape. Ribbon and bow added to panel and then placed on the front of the black cardstock.

Eiffel Jewelry Tower

I had purchased the Eiffel Jewelry Tower a couple months ago for my granddaughter's birthday who is a big fan of Paris.  Wasn't sure what I was going to do with it but it definitely was going to be papercrafted and wanted it to be a money tree gift.  My inspiration came from CupCake Inspirations Challenge 360, using the color combination of Pink and Gold, and using gold stars on the Sentiment (when I went to link challenge was closed) and with The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge's Inspirational Challenge using pink and gold accents.

Started out with black cardstock...enclosed the 3 sides and made a bottom in the upper half of the tower.  Added a back panel with a flower on top and when this flower is pulled it has the money rolled inside.

The photos below shows the card that I made for her Birthday (click here) and was the deciding factor to use a similar flower for decorating the tower. Using Cricut Design Center, for each flower there were 3 different sizes, sprayed with Gold Mist, crinkled, layered, added a glitter tape (hole punch) in the middle of each flower and placed on the tower with glue dots.

The photos below show the detail and the Sentiment at the bottom of the tower in Gold litter, my Granddaughter's name and two Paris Models (also used on the card) standing at the bottom of the Eiffel Tower.

Gears to You

Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #194Join us in this week’s challenge combining the colors, Sapphire, Pacifica, Crystal Blue, White Daisy and Black (all and only) until Thursday, May 26, 2016 to create and link up your project. Look forward to seeing your inspirations for this color challenge. We encourage you to use CTMH products; however you may use any products to participate using closest to colors...and still join in the fun.

This Color Challenge was combined with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #160, and I created a generic male card for any occasion.

Cut several sprockets using a Spellbinders Die-cut.  Cut a panel of Design Paper and using several of the ink blot flairs randomly stamped with the three blues and then adhered sprockets with 3D Thin Foam Tape to the panel.

Cut a second panel of design paper and adhered to the Black cardstock and then adhered the sprocket/gears panel to this panel. Found a sprocket/cog border in Cricut Design Space, modified the size and glued.  Created the Sentiment with Text Add in Design Space and used another cog to use as the letter "o" and added an arrow for embellishment.

On the inside of the card adhered some sprockets in the bottom right-hand corner and leaving space for a personal note.

You and I Just Click

Bitten by the Bug "Say Cheese Camera Challenge" combined with The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch, using a rectangular card instead of square.  The Cricut die-cut used was "You & I Just Click Card" from the CTMH Artfully Sent Cartridge.  Click on both challenges to see what the other Design Team Members have created and other entrant inspirations.

Modified the card to be just a focal point and made it into a shaker. On red cardstock using one of the design papers from CTMH's Magical paper pack for the background and adhered shaker to the background.

Using the negative from the cut out, glued it on white cardstock and adhered next to the sentiment on the bottom. Stamped another sentiment and adhered to the upper corner instead of a bow.

Mother's Day / Friendship Card

This card was created using Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #159.  With so many layers my thoughts were to use a lot of stitched and scalloped panels with a variety of colors and design papers from the CTMH Magical Paper Packet.  Very happy with the contrast of colors and pattern.  A happy card...for Mother's Day or Special Friendship...all occasion card, sentiment and personal note will be added to the inside of card.
