Special Day - Happy Birthday

The ColorMyHeart Color Dare Challenge #180 is to combine Black, White Daisy and any 1, 2 or 3 of the following reds: Pomegranate, Ruby and/or Cranberry.

Joint Challenge...We are really excited about the venture we have for you this week! We are partnering with another fabulous Close to My Heart challenge blog, Heart2Heart Challenge . The Heart 2 Heart themed challenge is “Share the Love” which you can interpret to mean something with hearts and love messages or something with the February Constant Campaign “Share the Love” stamp set or something else that reminds you of a “Share the Love” theme.

Entering both of these challenges by the Color Dare deadline of Thursday, February 18 at 9:00 PM CST, there will be a random prize drawing on Friday, February 19 for those who have entered both challenges. (Please use a direct link to your blog post and link back to both of our blogs). We would love to have you “Share the Love” with both challenge blogs. Please be sure to check out the rules page of H2H here and the Color Dare rules on the right side of this page. You can also share your work with us at the Color My Heart Color Dare Community FB page and then copy that URL to paste it into the Linky tool for both of our blogs.

This card will be submitted to Heart 2 Heart for their first theme in February "...embraces the number 2 (Feburary is the 2nd month of the year!- get it?) Use the number 2 or "TWO" or the inspirations of two in your project!"

My Theme 2 includes: A February 23rd Birthday Card for my Sister, 2 Flowers on the Belly Band and 2 Flowers on the Inside, and card is made of 2 pieces.

While in Facebook I came across a card by Chana Malkah Harris which was called a Napkin Fold card and I went to YouTube and found an excellent YouTube video by Dawn Griffith.  This tutorial was different from Chana's card but I was happy with the tutorial and saw so many possibilities.  I saw this card being used for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #146, somewhat out of the box, but yet bring out some of my creativity.  I chose to make this a square card.

This is showing the card opened, with the belly band sitting to the left of the card.  The tutorial gives all the measurements and how to's, and all you need is your selection of paper, embellishments and your creativity. The flowers were cut from Cricut Design Space, edges rolled, petals layered, glitter circle cut, adhered finished flowers to card, added liquid glass to centers, and added Wink of Stella.  The inside white panel was sprayed with Pearl Glitter Mist to add a fine glimmer.

This photo is the Belly Band that is wrapped around the card, and when recipient pulls the band off the card will start to open.

I've never made a napkin fold card before and haven't seen many of these, but I do love how it looks and I give you extra points for being able to use a sketch as inspiration as well! Great job!
