I Love Golf Birthday Gift Card

This Birthday Gift Card is made for my son's birthday, January 5, using Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #140.  His favorite sport is golfing, so I made the card so that it would hold the Gift Certificate for a couple games of golf.

The pocket for the certificate was simple a square and 3D Thin Foam Tape used on three sides to raise the cardstock to hold the Gift Certificate.  All cuts were made in Cricut Design Space using CTMH Paper Fundamentals and Cardstock.  Bead embellishments were added to the tee and ball.

Join this Challenge and you will get a monthly freebie... for participation see the full instructions at Outlawz Progressive Freebie Challenge.

The Freebie for December was an image from All Dressed Up Stamps "Happy Christmas Little Star."  And the tree was a gift from Christina Hor at Memories Crafter which I used to incorporate into this Challenge.  Visit these sites to see the works of these artists and their creations.

Just a little bit closer view to show the detail of the fussy-cut, coloring and Wink of Stella which does not show up very well with my camera.  A touch of Wink of Stella was also used on the tree and then I scattered a few sequins and glued on the tree.

Brentwood Card

Since we were a little confused on the time that the BlogHop was closed at 11:55 Pacific, I thought when I entered the ornament I was just under the wire, only to find out that we still had two more hours...our interpretation was one hour less instead of one hour more for Mountain Time compared to Pacific Time....I guess we thought we were on the East Coast.

So, since I wanted to make a card on Brentwood, I pulled in some cricut cuts that I had done previously and stamps that I had stamped and cut, and kraft paper with matching hollies on it, I said why not...I think I can do this in a couple hours.  Thank you for the freebie "Barista Brentwood Owl" from Jessica Lynn Original Stamps.

Logs were a cricut design space die-cut from white cardstock, colored and combined as one long log and adhered with 3D Thin Foam tape.  Brentwood was colored with ShinHan alcohol-based pens, fussy-cut and adhered with 3D Thin Foam tape to the log.  The hollies and berries were already stamped,  cut and layered two times to give it dimension and glued to background.  Added liquid glass on all the berries on the background and the embellishments, and to Brentwoods nose and toes.

Brentwood's New Home Ornament

Brentwood's New Home

Wow, just got my ornament in on the wire.

Until I learned we still had two hours MTN Time

I saw Brentwood on so many cards and I just adore him and before the BlogHop ended I wanted to do a card with the freebie "Barista Brentwood Owl" from Jessica Lynn Original Stamps, but then there was another challenge I wanted to complete at the same time "Gifts from the Heart" at the  Heart2Heart Challenges.  This will be a gift for my daughter since she loves owls, and she also loves Brentwood.

Warm Winter Wishes

Day 8 - Winter/Holiday Coffee Lover's BlogHop

Using CTMH White Pine Paperpak, I made the following card as one of my last cards for the BlogHop unless I can get one more in.  Cut on Cricut Design Space was the disposable coffee cup and used one of the design papers to cut it out.  Then with regular cardstock I cut on the top and put washi tape on it.  For the sleeve I added another strip of washie tape and added a snowflake that I misted with gold and adhered to cup.

My daughter gave me the poinsettias from CTMH but are retired, and I took two of red and white and misted them with gold and then layered each, crushing the petals, and then added a gold gem in the middle. For the card frame I took Cranberry cardstock and misted gold on the edges.  Added Sentiment.

Computer still down, will have to catch up on completing the blog with products used.

Share the Happiness

My card today is the gift of sharing, not only at Christmas but all year.  I started out with stamping and cutting out the images I wanted to used for my card, then colored with ShinHan pens, and fussy-cut and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  The big cup in the center was stamped on two different design papers for the cup and sleeve, and the cover was cardstock and then pieced together.  The background sky is washi tape, and the snow was cut with a die from glitter paper.  3D thin foam tape was used throughout to create dimension.

All the Goodness of Life is in a Cup

Day 7:  This card was made for the Holiday Coffee Lovers BlogHop combined with ColorMyHeart Color Dare Challenge #172 using the CTMH Colors in the White Pines PaperPak, a favorite Christmas Design paper of mine.

Christmas isn't much different here in Arizona...just that we have rays of sunshine coming down instead of snowflakes.  Although my daughter-in-law took a picture of snow a day ago and their ground had a layer of snow on it and they are only 3 miles from us.  We may have gotten it too; but I had my head buried in card making and drinking (coffee that is) and planning on what my next card was going to be.

Well here it is, A Christmas Card from Arizona (the desert).  I borrowed this cactus arrangement from my neighbor "Potted" by Waffle Flower.  Stamped, colored with ShinHan alcohol-base pens, and then fussy-cut, cutting off the pot at the bottom of the image, and replaced it with a stamp "Coffee First" Create a Smile.  I believe the smaller cup was a freebie digi image from Verve, and the sentiment was from Verve Stamps "Delightful & Delicious"  (not sure of the name of the company hat offered this freebie;) but will have to share when my home computer is fixed because it's not on my laptop...darn technology.

Sending You a Cup of Cheer

Day 5:  My Card for the Coffee Lovers Holiday BlogHop and International Tea Day - Sending You a Cup of Cheer

Santa left the shop, leaving Mrs. Clause and his elves in charge, to deliver some much needed coffee, tea and hot chocolate for those in need and ones consumed in this BlogHop.  So make sure you leave him a treat.  Santa also made sure, before he left Mrs. Santa and the elves, that they had a large supply of each of the drinks to energize them.   Santa was very thoughtful of the reindeer, and rather than take his sleigh, he would go by air balloon to give his reindeer a rest before the big night.  And this is how my card came about.

Happy Hot Chocolate Season

This is my card for Day 3 of the Holiday Coffee Lovers BlogHop and National Cocoa Day.

Selected the paper I wanted to use from a prize I got from DCWV, a Wintery Scene...wasn't sure what I was going to do with it; but I know I wanted the main focus to be on the beautiful tree and snow.  The paper already had a sentiment "Let it Snow" and it was already glittered.

I stamped, colored and fussy-cut the Fox, the Squirrel, some cocoa/chocolate disposal cups and marshmallows and placed them on the card.  Added a second sentiment and framed with silver glimmer paper on white daisy card stock.

I Can't Believe I Forgot your Birthday

A Belated Birthday Card for a child, and the inspiration came from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #137.  The Sketch reminded me of a window pane and I wanted to use one of my CTMH stamps sets I had not used before "Animal Greetings Operation Smile".  Looking through the different verses for these cute crittersl, I decided on the three below in picture.  I used the Free Shapes program on Cricut Space to design the panel with the windows, cut a second to make the cardstock heavier because I was envisioning a shaker card.

I cut several of the party decorations and adhered them to the back panel, and then covered them with vellum so that the sequins would not get caught up in the party decorations.  Since I had decided not to make a shaker card I used some Glitz Star Dust Glitter Gel from CTMH to bring in some glitter. However, the glitter gel did not come out of container steady enough so I just made streaks on each of the panels so that it appeared that snow was hitting against the windows.

Using gypsy cardstock I decided to cut another of the party decorations that are in the window, and place them on the side panel to mimmick the ribbon and embellishments in the sketch.  Finished with adding the sentiments under the critters.

Christmas is Love with all the Trimmings

This card was made for someone special who is going through some difficult times and loves turquoise.  Hope all this sparkle brings with it some Christmas spirit and enjoyment around these difficult times.

A Holiday Treat

Using the theme from Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #183 combined with the Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #171, what's more appropriate than a cute Bear juggling candies around for "A Holiday Treat".  The background paper is glittery candy canes with peppermint candies Cricut cut and raised with Foam Tape.  Bear is adhered to foam backing and then a Candy Cane fussy-cut from the paper and hung on his hand, while peppermint candies being juggled in his other hand.  When I submitted the card, I then realized there was supposed to be gold in the color challenge as well, so I added gold glitter behind the sentiment and raised Sentiment with foam tape and re-submitted.

This is my card for STAMPlorations NeverEnding "Anything Goes" Challenge using the freebie, digi-stamp, front and center.  Also included in the CasePlorations at Stamplorations, December 1, 2015 Challenge, inspired by the simplicity of one layer cards...and this is simplicity for me.  I dry embossed a Nordic design on colonial white cardstock and then colored with ShinHan pens.  Used Cricut Design Space to text, weld, and cut all the words to the right of the Cup and Books, and added a stamped sentiment on the upper left-hand corner.  "Coffee" is a die.  Raised the image and sentiment with 3D Foam Tape.

Heart2Heart Seasonal Shout Out #1
This busy holiday month, to help give the Design Team a little more time with their families, we will not be selecting Top 10 or a Top Chick.  We still wanted to recognize our players, so at least once each week we'll be giving a "shout out" to an awesome project.  This week's shout out goes to Sue Reynolds for this cute card.

December 5, 2015 - Flowers
Holly (Ilex spp.) bushes and trees are a diverse group that serve many needs within the garden, as well as making colorful holiday decorations. Their shiny, often spiny leaves and bright red berries are instantly recognizable, but you may miss their plain, small, white flowers. Although some holly plants may not have berries, they all have flowers to varying degrees.

Merry Christmas Sparkle

This card was created using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #136 using the colors from the

First I started out with different size Christmas trees but it didn't take on the appearance of the sketch. Looking for something more rectangular I decided to use words and text them vertically, alternating the colors, which I felt was a better interpretation of the sketch...then added my tree at the end for the fifth piece.  A shaker was used for the focal point with my sentiment attached to it.  So as not to hide the letters in the words, I wove a thin strip of white glitter tape across the words and tree and on the other side of the shaker.  Raised the Champagne panel with 3D Regular Tape, cut hole in panel and placed the shaker card in hole, and attached panel to the Cocoa border.  Raised the Merry Christmas with 3D Thin Foam Tape to meet the height of the shaker.
