It's the Little Things

It's nearing the end of the month and The Outlawz - August Freebie Progressive image from Make it Crafty Digital Stamp "Wishful Asha" will soon be due. Again because I like combining challenges I pulled up the Sketch challenge from Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 #65, and thought this would be excellent for this month's image, and then to match it up with the dandelion Stamp Set from CTMH...perfect.

Funny story:  I always show my husband the cards I make and ask him "What do you see?"  He responded " A girl with a flower in her hand and a sand fly."  And I said "Look at the background and tell me what you see?"  He looked puzzled and didn't say anything.  I said "Don't you see the explosion of dandelions?" and he quickly responded "How would I know they are the wrong color". Would I have to explain this to any crafting person...no.  I looked at him and responded "This is fairyland...anything goes."

Just added some of the same Stamp-Set images to the inside of the card.

Merry Little Christmas

I was working on my ColorMyHeart Color Dare #156 challenge in which I had decided to do a Christmas Challenge with the challenge colors. Only 4 months to Christmas...so thought I better start now to complete all my cards. I had already cut my "Ornament Cascade" from cartridge "CTMH Artbooking" in Cricut Design Space using Paper Fundamentals "Hollyhock." and I had already stamped and colored my elf images, but nothing adhered yet.  Early this morning when I went on Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #122 I thought the Christmas ornaments took the appearance of the sketch and with just a couple changes I could make it work.  I had already flipped horizontally because I wasn't happy with the bold side as ornaments, and then simply cut the ornaments out on the right-side to take on the appearance of the sketch.  Wow, my two favorite challenges coming together again.

Elves are from Stamp Set "Merry Pursuits" and on the elf with the light bulbs I did a technique to reverse/flip horizontally so that I could place it on a hanging ornament.  Since I cut out the ornaments on the right-hand side I decided to add presents behind the elf sitting with the tall present acting as a net to catch the fall of the elf hanging from the ornament.  Colored all stamped images with ShinHan alcohol-based pens, mixing colors to get closest to the Hollyhock, Kraft and Goldrush colors, then fussy-cut and adhered with different thicknesses of 3D Foam Tape for dimension. Stamped Sentiment directly on front of card.

The inside of this card was the right-side of my Cricut Cut from the Front of the Card.

Workin' 9 to 5

8/24 (Team Slate, hostess Paige) Workin’ 9 to 5
Heart2Heart Guest Designer Entry for August 24, 2015 - Workin' 9 to 5

When this challenge came up I knew the stamp set I was going to use...so I borrowed the stamp set "Typed Note" from my daughter.  This takes me back in time...learning to type in high school and entering the outside world "Workin' 9 to 5" at the Hilton Hotels in 1961 as a receptionist and typist using a similar typewriter machine...the sound of the keys as they struck the paper is a lasting memory.  There were only a few electric typewriters and they were in a different department so advancement to the Sales Department was a must.  The Secretary's had an IBM Executive Electric Typewriter (which was born in 1941) but only made available to the Hilton Hotels in the 60's.  With computer technology who uses typewriters...and what an improvement for a 9 to 5 job.

Used Colonial White Cardstock for my background design, stamping Pennants with Black Ink and then sponging the colors on each of the designs with a variety of 5 colors, and adhered to Gypsy Cardstock for border.

Zoe Thinking of You

This thank you card was made for a friend of ours in Wyoming using Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #121 and combining it with ColorMyHeart Color Dare #155.  Couldn't wait to use the Zoe paperpak after my return from Wyoming; but was delayed because I had computer problems that I had to resolve before getting back to my card addiction.

The flowers were all stamped, and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder to pop against the soft tones of the Zoe paper.  Flowers were adhered with 3D Thin Foam Tape at different levels. Edges of card panels were distressed with leaf green ink, with the smaller panel lifted with 3D Thin Foam Tape.  The background Green Panel was embossed with a Dot Folder.  Sentiment was stamped in Whisper.  Embellishments added to the Glacier Flower, and two flowers on the Sentiment corners.

The inside was stamped with Flowers, layering them and another Sentiment "Thank You."  Personal note will be added.

Color Dare:  Today we are daring you to use the colors from the Brand New, Hot-off-the-Press, paper pack, Zoe!
